Description

We are a small family farm in eastern Sarasota County. We have owned the property since 1982. We practice natural methods as much as possible in gardening and farming. We eat our own vegetables and sell the excess when available. I also sell the goat products. It is sold as raw dairy for pet consumption only per Florida law. My herd is mostly Nubian but I do have Sannan, Alpine and some S'Nubians. I run ADGA registered Nubian bucks. My girls are working girls not show goats. I do vaccinate my goats. I use a wormer on a, as need basis, not just on a schedule. I will not compromise their health to fit a label. They are named and are family members so their health is important to me. We feed the best commercial feed we can buy and I do a custom mix on feed stuffs to give them the best nutrition. They have free access to pasture and woods. They are fed Canadian hay on a year round basis. You have to feed them right to get the most milk. I use a Hoegger pail system to milk when I have more than 5 goats to milk. We practice sound dairy sanitation on the goats and milking equipment. I bottle milk in sterile plastic jugs for the market but can provide milk from my glass or stainless steel milk totes to anyone that wants to bring their own containers. We use our own-composted manure on a raised bed garden. Unique and interesting vegetables are available during our growing season. We do not have much in the hot months, July through September. We use only organic methods or pest control on the garden.
