Description

White Oak Pastures was established in 1866. Five generations & 150 years later the Harris family still call these pastures home. Cattle has always been deeply rooted in the daily workings of the farm, but as the years have progressed so have the species. We are now home to 10 animal species, and hundreds of edible plant species. Will Harris, the owner and visionary behind the organism that is White Oak Pastures, has returned the operation to the Grassfed production model that his great-grandfather utilized. In 2007, Will built a state of the art USDA-Inspected, Zero-Waste, beef processing plant on the farm. It is one of only two in the entire country, and is Animal Welfare Approved. Our poultry abattoir was built in 2011, and is the only poultry processing plant in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi or Tennessee that processes pastured poultry. We are the only farm in the US with both, a red meat & poultry plant, on farm under USDA inspection. Today cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, and turkeys are rotated through the pastures in the Serengeti Grazing Model. The beef is Certified Grassfed, and our pastures have been Certified Organic since 2000. We also responsibly raise rabbits, ducks, guineas, geese, & hogs. White Oak Pastures raises and sells grassfed beef, pastured poultry and eggs, organic vegetables and most recently a pet treat line. We also offer a line of handmade tallow based cosmetics, & leather goods from our hides.
