Sparta FRESH Farmer's Market is a partnership of ELM STREET GARDENS, Bread and Butter Farm, DREAM Streets Sparta, and the Sparta Hancock County Historic Preservation Commission and our many wonderful hardworking Community vendors. Locally grown produce, vegetables,fruits, heirloom and organic and in season, canned goods from locally grown produce , our eggs - chicken, duck, and quail, are by certified handlers, meats are locally grown from multi generational family farms, local natural honeys, herbs, a mini greenhouse with micro greens for your sandwiches, soups, stews, and salads, beautiful heirloom quilts, fresh flowers, handcrafted suncatchers and DREAM catchers, beautiful handmade wooden dough bowls, goblets, utensils, tables, knives, from fallen local woods - Elm, pecan, oak, and more.We also have Heavenly pies and gourmet cookies with specialty flavors found only at our Market. and in collaboration with other vendors. Our vendors sometimes vary with seasons , and several offer paid apprenticeships as well as mentoring. Our SPARTA FRESH Farmer's Market is housed on the wide covered front porch of the historic Mushroom Factory which started out it's life as the Community 's cotton warehouse, then sometime in the 1930's became a Furniture Factory Warehouse and produced furniture until 2001. A portion of the building is still a workshop for furniture refinishing and repair, but now focuses on antiques. The Mushroom Factory now produces gourmet mushrooms for high end restaurants, mostly in the Atlanta area. We will be adding a Farm to Table restaurant to our Sparta FRESH Farmer's Market as a welcome partner September 1. We also have a Seafood Food Truck , a Flower Shop, and an antique store in our Sparta FRESH Farmer's Market every Friday from 2-6. Parking is limited so carpool and bring your friends!
