Berry & Sons Produce (BSP) is an agribusiness that specializes in growing and distributing fruits and vegetables to wholesalers and retailers throughout the US. The company is owned and operated by a young African American couple who are first generation farmers.
The company was founded by Karlin and Adrianna in 2018 with a $1,000 personal investment. From there the couple headed south to the Plant City Market to source produce to resell to a local grocery store. Transporting the produce using their personal vehicle and an open trailer, the couple was determined to sell the highest quality of produce and make their debut in the produce industry.
From 2018 to 2019, the company began to gain traction and developed a solid customer base servicing a regional grocery store chain and wholesale distributors. With no space to store product, the couple became creative and built a make-shift cooler using a 40-foot conex container. Then in January 2020, the company relocated to a 2,000 square feet cooling storage in Bunnell, FL to better serve their customers.
As part of better serving their customers, the company pivoted during the pandemic and started growing their own vegetables on 40 acres of land. Currently cabbage, collard greens, and broccoli is being grown on the farm with the goal of growing other seasonal crops. The couple is excited and looking forward to growing their operations and continuing to deliver the best produce.
