Description

Wild Scallions Farm uses sustainable and organic practices to enhance the soils and grow healthful produce, focusing on heirloom varieties. We practice crop rotation, plant cover crops, compost, and encourage beneficial insect populations and song birds. We do not use synthetic chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We do a lot of work by hand or hoe to minimize engine use: pulling weeds, removing pests and preparing beds. Our farm creatures include the encouraged chickens, dogs, song birds, honey bees and composting earthworms, and, sadly, the discouraged rabbit warrens, rodents, marmots, and insect hordes: a tithe, so to speak.
