Turtle Run is a small family farm in historic Saxapahaw NC. Our specialties include a delicious small purple plum tomato that we call "Little Cherokee" . This tomato was developed here at our farm quite by accident after we noticed a biologic sport on a small length of tomato vine on an otherwise normal looking Sungold tomato plant. We then crossed the sport with an heirloom variety called Cherokee Purple. After 5 years the strain seems to have stabilized and can replicate itself year after year without crossing.
