Description

Handance Farm is a small permaculture farm operated since 1986 by Brian and Pat Bush We grow a wide assortment of vegetables , flowers and culinary and medicinal herbs. We are a mom and pop operation, but work with volunteers who wish to learn these skills. We produce many heirloom vegetable varieties as we have for 26 years, saving some of our own seed.We have stopped disturbing our soil and soil organisims by tillage- prefer no til and less disruptive soil practices.
We grow in harmony with nature, understanding our farm is an entire ecosystem ,surrounded by a larger ecosystem(our planet) and we are always seeking balance.Farm decisions are based on that holistic view. We use no chemicals , and use natural ways of fertilizing, mulching and pest control -choosing only OMRI approved materials as inputs when necessary.
We offer a portion of our harvest for sale as CSA shares from May till Sept ,with an option for Oct. This is our 19th year of CSA!
Besides through our CSA, our veggies are available on Sat mornings at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market -on Lindsey St -where we celebrate being a part of our local food community
