Description

Fair Share Farms primary enterprise is a Market Garden. That means we grow commercially on a small space. We also use very little mechanized equipment. We are a people powered farm, intentionally small in acreage but highly productive because we use intensive agricultural techniques and appropriately scaled equipment. We utilize permanent raised beds because it reduces yearly input costs, reduces early season labor, and allows us to build soil. This sustainable agriculture technique is the hallmark of Fair Share Farm, as well as other progressive, semi-urban market farms. Growing this way allows us to market our goods at an equitable price for both us, the producer, and our greater Winston-Salem neighbors, the consumer.
